Which artists (i.e. Tate visit) did you research to develop your work – How did you develop written and cultural contexts?

So far, I have not researched any artists to develop my work as none of them had really been of any interest to me.

How did you develop your practical experiments?

I developed my practical experiments through trial and error, or rather, trying to fail faster. By trying to find faults in my works earlier through all kinds of experimentation such as combining a cut up bottle with a painting or trying to put together a short video about anxiety, it had not only pushed me to find the best way to approach my work overall, but allowed me to understand the best way to approach a subject to allow an audience to understand what my art pieces are about. By doing similar drafts over and over again with the concept in mind, this allowed me to view my practical experiments from different perspectives while achieving my goal.

How did you work in the studio?

I was not able to concentrate as well in the studio compared to isolating myself in my room to complete my work. This might be due to my sense of surrounding and how I am hyper aware about it. When there are a lot of people around me, even when they’re doing similar thing to what I am doing, I can not help but feel anxious, as if somebody is watching over my every move, which results in the lack of productivity from me during studio time.

How did you organize your time outside of college?

I would split my artworks across several days to finish it, especially a big project. So far, I would make sure to at least spend one independent study day just concentrating on art (excluding breaks such as lunch and dinner). The rest of the days I would spend around an hour outside of studio time to either finish completing my work or reading up or researching about artists/artworks I would like to us to influence/inspire my works.

Sketchbooks and notebooks – how did you develop your approaches? Have you set up your Workflow pages?

My approach so far has been to first take lots of photos of my artworks in progress and when it is finished. I would then upload it to workflow under the appropriate page, alongside uploading my reflection unto workflow. I have set up 4 workflow pages: Coommunication, Art, Design and Pre-arrival tasks.

What support did you access i.e. tutor support, peer support. I.E. to help discuss ideas and get some constructive feedbacks?

I had made use of any support around me for the past 3 weeks plus. However, I would frequently discuss ideas with friends around me to get a better sense as to what I am doing and how I plan to approach a piece of work. I think it would be beneficial for me to approach a wider range of support to allow me to work to my full potential.==

Lastly how well are you evaluating your practice i.e. regular reflection etc?

My reflections are not done every single day or once every two days. I would do my reflections at the end of each week, as I get a huge image of what I had exactly done, and can compare everything I had done within that week with each other instead of reflecting on very small chunks of things I had done, which in my opinion would not be as effective.
